Emery & Jena Kittle began in the grooming world in an effort to fill a need. As small business owners in the KC area for over 20 years, the pair have a love of business and a desire to make a difference. After opening a dog grooming salon in 2019 Emery & Jena saw a need for a standardized hands-on way for groomers to get trained in the Kansas City area. From that vision the Kansas City Grooming Academy, the only certified dog grooming academy in the state of KS was born with a mission; to turn out amazing dog stylists who love dogs and understand the importance of taking care of a dog’s physical and mental health while in their care.

While in the pet grooming industry Jena & Emery saw another huge need…a reliable and consistent sharpening service. As the couple saw companies come and go, they waited with all of the rest of the KC area groomers and stylists for a sharpener to turn up on the scene and bring stability to a need all groomers and stylists have. Finally, after waiting for over a year with no hope on the horizon the two decided to become the answer that this industry has been waiting for. With Emery’s handyman abilities and eye for detail along with his steadfastness and reliability, the two knew they could fill this need.

They knew they wanted to not just fill this need, but to fill it with excellence. With that in mind, Emery sought out master level training. He has trained with two of the top sharpeners in the US and is putting that expertise into practice in the KC area.
